The Blizzard 2010 (7)
This gallery represents a tiny fraction of photos taken, of the Blizzard that was and it appears more is on the way.. This was Bowie's biggest Snowstorm in more than 40 years. we ended up with more than 30+ inches on the ground over that 24 hr period!! More on my Flickr, photo stream. http://www.flickr.com/photos/fbdklw/ -
Sites of Palmetto (9)
I put the Nikon D80 through it's paces this past week, putting to use one of my newer lenses, the Nikkor dx,70-300mm VR. It really gets me close in and the VR technology is great for someone like myself whom struggles with stability. More available on my Flickr page, http://www.flickr.com/photos/fbdklw/ -
My accidental trip to Appomattox Courthouse (13)
Somehow on my way back from Chatham VA this past week, I stumbled upon the Appomattox courthouse, historic park where Lee and Grant had officially ended the civil war. I was actually not paying very good attention to my GPS, when I suddenly found myself in an unfamiliar area, and as I was realizing this, I was seeing signage for this historic location and decided, this is a great time to take a break and look around at one of VA's many historic landmarks. It was well worth every minute I was there. -
A 20th anniversary event (12)
This event took place in a true southern mansion dating back to the 1680,s. A strong group effort of 5 of us made this happen for 140pp, off premise. Was a success and very much a moment that really made me proud of my group, who pulled this off. -
A Stroll to Dowtown Annapolis (18)
This past Thursday I did something I have not ever done, and that was be a tourist in my hometown, where I got my break in downtown Annapolis MD. The buildings and scenes even with the increasing franchise businesses making their way in are still as beautiful as ever, and I wonder how I never really spent alot of quality time here. Oh yeah, I worked here. -
Graduation in Alexandria (18)
It is clear to me that of all of my groups, this one is the most talented. Today they showed their moxy. they served much more than the estimated 1200 for graduation. Of those served I would argue came back for 3rds and fourths making it impossible to keep everything continually replenished. the uptake is, that every one ate well and had plenty to choose from. My hopes are that we retain and continue service here, as this is a bid year at this location. I'd like to believe that this event may have sealed the positives going into their years end. -
A retirement set up (3)
Some places thank you for your service (if your lucky) and send you on your way. At this location in Alexandria they celebrate you and your career with them. then of course the obligatory reception food!! -
An evening in Alexandria (6)
We do a great deal of events in this home annually. The set up was inside due to the ridiculous amounts of rain we have been having lately. 125 pp, came through, this evening and even though it was a Sardine atmosphere, the event went off without a hitch. -
A Tappahannock Event (5)
Every year we have a ball or dance at our clients locale in the small town of Tappahannock. And, every year we manage to have a rainstorm and this years was no different, we at least managed to get set up before the rains came. More photo's will be uploaded to my Flickr page soon.
